
Stanley Kaufman

He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Marmion thence the church formed together with St. John’s, Desboro and now is Faith Lutheran. He was married at St. Peter’s Lutheran.
Stan was a lifetime farmer and spent twenty years as manager of Desboro arena. As a young man softball was of great interest to him. He pitched for Desboro and area for many years and then coached for many more. He and Dave Klages started the first Desboro ball tournament, looking after the team for many years. He and Wayne Maluskie were instrumental in getting artificial ice started in Desboro arena.
Beloved husband of Ruth (Schwartz) for 62 years. Loving father of Kenneth (Inez) of Desboro, Larry (Christine) of Cambridge and Kathryn Kaufman of Desboro. He was blessed with ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Stan will be fondly remembered by his brother Allen (Nora) of Cameron, sister Betty Gabert of Owen Sound and sister-in-law Winnie Kaufman of Desboro and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his daughter Patricia Maluske, great-grandson Darien Kaufman, brother Walter, sister Ella (Jack) Lipskie, brother-in-law Chester Gabert and his parents, Louis and Lydia (Klages) Kaufman.
Visitation will be held at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley on Tuesday from 2–4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Stan’s life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, Desboro on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 2 p.m. Interment in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Desboro
